MIZA AI

Human-centred AI

Technology increasingly influences decisions about people — from recruitment and progression to performance, workforce planning, talent and employee experience.

  5. 05Human judgement

MIZA AI examines the patterns that emerge when digital systems influence decisions about people. It asks who is visible in the data, who may be missed and where a decision needs closer scrutiny.

A pattern can point to a problem in the data, the process or the conditions in which a system is used. Understanding which one matters for decision quality, trust and legal and reputational risk.

AI should support better human decisions — not make people invisible within them.

The approach

Detect → Explain → Investigate → Improve

  1. 01

    Detect

Surface patterns within technology-enabled people decisions that would otherwise remain invisible.

  2. 02

    Explain

Make the pattern legible: what is being observed, where, and what it may relate to.

  3. 03

    Investigate

Support human enquiry into contributing factors, context and process — rather than issuing a verdict.

  4. 04

    Improve

Change the system, the data or the decision practice, and observe whether the pattern moves.

A critical distinction

A detected pattern is not automatically proof of discrimination.

  1. 01Pattern detection
  2. 02Correlation
  3. 03Possible contributing factors
  4. 04Causation
  5. 05Legal discrimination

MIZA AI is designed to hold these apart. Its purpose is to support human investigation into context and contributing factors — and to show where data, decision practice or oversight may need to change. It does not automatically label people or organisations.
